For material processing by means of CO2 lasers, a beam guiding system is necessary in order to transfer the laser beam into the processing head, where the laser beam is formed for its interaction with the workpiece. Corresponding optical components are produced and delivered by FEHA. These components are especially adapted to the beam properties of FEHA CO2 lasers. Since these lasers are characterized by a superior beam quality, only high-quality optics are used, e.g., high-reflecting phase retarders (HRPR) within polarization modules and mirrors of high reflectivity >99,5% (TRZ: total reflector zero phase shift) within bending modules in order to avoid uncontrolled phase shift. Also in laser installations with other CO2 lasers, these modules can be integrated and used in the same advantageous manner.
The optical components are designed due to the aspects of compactness and of a reduced number of adjusting elements that have to be considered for the beam alignment. Therefore some modules have multiple functions (e.g. circular-polarizing, bending, and aligning of the beam by just one module), and different modules can be directly combined (e.g. integration of power measurement into the polarization module). Furthermore, the optical components are designed so that cleaning and also a replacement of the mirrors can be done without losing the beam alignment.
Our optical components are suited for average beam power up to 2 kW. If no other dimension is mentioned, the aperture of the modules is 30 mm, i.e., the components are optimum for beam diameters up to 18 mm.
